I didnt get 2 million experience.  Nothing showed that I got backstab damage increase.  I dont know if I do or not have the increase. nothing really happened.  sux. i had 10 elfs 1 woodelf lord.

also, it says now that I am "too puny" to do another quest, so it didnt foul up and have to re-do its dead and on to next or something.

We'll get the bug fixed and we have the ability to add and remove quest flags so we can make sure you get your appropriate bonuses.  We'll replace those elf-heads as well so you don't have to do that over. ;)

[HP=278]:ask b work

Balthazar grins suddenly, his sharp fangs shining.

"But of course, you are the one who completed that minor task with the fool
Markus.  You have proved to have some small worth, after all.  And your
timing is most fortituous!  For I have a use for you once more.  Pay close
  attention."

Balthazar stands, and makes a slow circle with his upturned palm.

A shimmering red portal snaps into existance in front of you!

Through the portal, you can see a mysterious wood, its trees bearing an almost
metallic bark, its leaves shimmering in the dim light.

With a sudden gesture, Balthazar dispels the portal, and continues:

"The accursed forest I have just shown you is home to a breed of especially
offensive wood-elves, and exists to the northwest of Silvermere, across the
river of its namesake.  They inhabit the tops of the trees, and, like vermin,
pour forth in numbers when the occasion suits them, and when on unfamiliar
ground, they flee in cowardice.  The elf-lord in their "city" has recently
desecrated a temple dear to me, and punishment for this is a grisly death.
I want you to slay this unholy elf and bring me his head-- as well as at
least ten of his fellow elves' heads. Go now, and do not return
until the deed is completed. Oh yes, and one last thing-- the only way you
will be  able to get in is through a cave somewhere in the forest. That is
all I will say for now.

Working on this right now.  Going to jot down a few notes here.

Twice now I've successfully completed the second evil quest with 500 eps.
The second time the only difference was I was wearing the woodelf lord head.  The textblock "takeitem" command wasn't unequipping the item when it took it, so it would still show in inventory as a worn item until I unequipped it at which point it disappeared.  I think this behavior has been noted in this bug section before.  Anyway, I just fixed that bug.

Still trying to repro the error...

Successfully completed quest with 5000 eps.  Don't think it's ep related.  Going to try as a ninja now, maybe it's class specific.

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

Ok, this particular one was caused because there's an error in the content (version o, fixed in p) for 2nd evil quest for ninja.  It contains "addability 272" instead of "addability 27 2" (with a space).

I'm handling the error by spitting out a more meaningful message to the player that there was an error in the content and continuing on with the textblock execution.

So this is what it looks like now to a ninja:

Error in the dats! addability expects 2 arguments
Balthazar's wide toothy smile is both gratifying and unsettling.

"Well done!", he exclaims, "I wasn't sure if you could even find the place. Once
again, you have not let me down. This bodes well for you, as failure is heavily
punished, and success well rewarded. Now that you have proven yourself somewhat
worthy of some minor trust, perhaps I can repay that faithfulness with a bit--
just a BIT-- of the power I enjoy."

Balthazar stands, walks over to you, and lays his hand on your head. You fall to
your knees, helpless under his power. He begins a slow chant, which steadily in
creases in power and speed, until he is practically screaming the arcane words i
n a resounding voice which makes your teeth ache! His hand begins to glow and he
at, and all at once an incredible surge of power flows through you, making you w
eak!

Your backstab damage increases!
Your stealth increases!
You gain 2,000,000 experience!

[HP=692]:stat

You just aren't getting the stealth increase.

I'm considering this bug fixed now.  (will be deployed later today, and we can fix up the peeps who suffered from it)

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

Quote"Error in the dats! addability expects 2 arguments"

You should have it give the textblock number the error is in...

Ie..
Content syntax error in block# {X} part#: {X} - addability expects 2 arguments

This at least tells a designer exactly where the error is happening before having to refer to their content notes...

Big Side Note:

version P is the best version.

we really really should be using that.  Every bbs I know and play on thats legit uses p and its just a bit nicer.
