Elemental Fury

Could you do this again on something with a few more hp. I'd like to see if those no effect messages are actually cast attempts rather then just duplicate messages... Maybe try the practice dummy... TY.

Eh I wasn't paying very close attention when I read it the first time...

Elemental fury is an odd spell.. Its basicly a bunch of endcasts stringing together a group of spells.

You summon the power of the elements!
spell 1: Shards of stone slice massive white dragon for 45 damage!
spell 2: Lightning strikes massive white dragon for 45 damage!
spell 3: Fire burns massive white dragon for 147 damage!
spell 4: Ice freezes massive white dragon for 0 damage!

now I could understand if each was generating a fail message but your getting stuff like this:

You gain 5000 experience.
1: Your spell has no effect in this room!
2: Your spell has no effect in this room!
3: Your spell has no effect in this room!
4: Your spell has no effect in this room!

1: Your spell has no effect in this room!
2: Your spell has no effect in this room!
3: Your spell has no effect in this room!
4: Your spell has no effect in this room!

Thats more then its share of spelling per round... to start with.... i.e. It should terminate the spell when the first portion of the spell has no effect.

The exp issue is anouther issue all together basicly it looks like your getting one for each of the casts within the spell. Which is also wrong and exploitable as you noted...

If you count them though there are more then 16 "Your spell has no effect in this room!" messages fireing off... its actually ending on the 18th....

When you consider it was the 2nd hit of the spell that killed the mob, the breakdown makes more sence this way...

So the initial round finishes with no effect 3 & 4, then you get exactly 4 more rounds, which is 1 additional round for each spell.

Missed that ty was still waking up... Still though with a four part spell each spell has 250 energy and 16 cast attempts puts it way over the 1000 energy limit per round.

I have a feeling that the multiple messages are genning because its treating each spell part as an individual instance rather then an grouped instance. So some type of logic should be put in to allow these Individual instances to act as a chained package of instances with messages like "Your spell has no effect in this room!" or even the events like death to resolving only once per main instance.

ok so really to fix this the ability endcast has to do the following:
Main instance: Endcast (reduce energy only do not multicast same spell)
: Chained instance 1: Endcast (reduce energy only do not multicast same spell)
:: Chained instance 2: Endcast (reduce energy only do not multicast same spell)
::: Chained instance 3: (at the last step there shouldn't be enough energy left to multicast)

All events triggered by effects of the spell should then be handled by the main instance of the spell rather then each instance handling its own.

I took a stab at fixing this tonight.  Can someone confirm this has been fixed or if the bug still persists please?  Thanks in advance. ;)

So still getting the extra "No effect in this room" msgs.  And it's still completing the current round, plus 1 extra round for each of the 4 spells.  Again in this case, the 2nd cast killed the mob, so he got 2 No effect messages for spell3 and spell4, then 16 no effects (1 full round of spells for each spell.  4x4=16)  At least the exp part is right now though.

Despite all the conversation on this spell and it's bugs, the druids have failed to mention one rather important aspect of the whole thing.  That would be the fact that the spell multi-casts each and every round.

I split it up, but that's one round of combat.  That's how peckerhead Entropic was able to kill everyone.  The spell also seems to continue to fire after a user hangs in pvp.

When he killed my warrior yesterday, he hit me about 16 times in one shot.
