Out of touch with... well, pretty much everything I think

Availing myself of the right to bitch, I have been sending emails to elected officials in Washington complaining about a wide range of topics from jobs creation to unemployment.

As I am just a serf and not a multi billion dollar contributer, I expected no response but at least I got to remind the two senators from my state that I'm pissed off, I vote, and November isn't that far away.

So I decided the other day that it might be a hoot to send an email to the White House and give them a piece of my mind as well.  As with the emails to senators, I didn't really expect a reply.  What I got was worse heh.  I got what can only be called spam!  I provided my full name, address, ect in my email to the White House, and I get back Dear Friend:.

Dear FRIEND???  WTF! If they were going to send out some canned reply, they could at least automate their system enough to put my damn name in the reply.

Anyhow I thought I'd share with folks here.  Keep in mind my email questioned the justification of putting so many other issues ahead of jobs creation and dealing one way or the other with unemployment insurance instead of leaving everyone hanging for weeks on end.

Enjoy

Dear Friend:

Thank you for writing me.  I have heard from many
Americans who are losing their jobs and struggling to pay their bills.
Every day, I meet with my economic advisors to make sure we are
doing all we can to create good jobs and help Americans support their
families and pursue the American Dream.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) was
the first step to spur job growth and ease the pain of unemployment.
This measure was designed to save or create millions of jobs here at
home in industries such as alternative energy, health care, and
construction.  By extending and increasing emergency unemployment
compensation and increasing access to health insurance, ARRA has
provided relief to millions of unemployed Americans and has helped
improve our Nation's economic outlook.

Many Americans, however, are still struggling to find
employment and provide for their families, and I am working to
promote additional job creation.  To assist workers who lose their
jobs, I signed into law the Worker, Homeownership, and Business
Assistance Act in November, extending unemployment benefits
beyond what exists in ARRA.  I also signed into law an extension
of COBRA benefits and partner with Congress to ensure that a safety
net remains in place for those who face long-term unemployment.

My Administration is also helping Americans return to work
by emphasizing job training in industries that cannot be outsourced.
Recently laid-off workers receiving unemployment benefits have
new opportunities to pursue higher education and job training
programs, including easier access to Pell Grants.  To encourage job
creation in the United States, I am replacing tax laws that send jobs
overseas with new incentives to create them here at home.  Available
assistance can be found online at:
www.dol.gov/recovery/implement.htm or www.opportunity.gov.

Together, we can help more Americans find and keep good jobs and
enjoy a healthy standard of living.  To locate an employment center
near you, select your state at: www.dol.gov/dol/location.htm.
For information on benefits and opportunities for those out of work, I
encourage you to visit: www.dol.gov/dol/audience/aud-
unemployed.htm.  To find career resources, you may call 1-877-872-
5627 or visit: www.careeronestop.org.  While it will take time to turn
our economy around, I am confident that, working together, we will
emerge from this crisis stronger than before.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama

Gosh thanks Uncle Barry!  I feel all warm and fuzzy now.

Here's an novel (No too hard to figure out) idea Create a Law that don't allow job's to be Outsourced. And bring back some tariffs or a law that States if you want to sell to the American people. The product must be built from ground up from American suppliers and supplies(Materials) from America also all the workers used to make product is American workers. The over all profits from the products still goes to the foreign company. And no longer can it be Only be assembled here( Example:All those foreign Auto plants in America THAt ONLy Assembles the Car not make , Big difference), also it is like pointed out earlier Again it be built from ground up in America.
Furthermore, that would eliminate all the shipping in of products of any kind from China/India and such well other then crops/foods. Just image all the jobs that would create, and all the Income Tax dollars that would also add to the coffers of the State/local( schools) and Federal Gov't's (pay off the defecate).
But lets get real, this is a govt run by the ppl with $$, if you cross them you'll end up as JFK.
just my 2 cents

Wars make jobs by killing people, and training people to kill.

in that case Therg, America needs to fight a war with someone that is a challenge.
That would cost a lot of lives on both sides or just one, that would make more $$ but how that make jobs?
Maybe declare war Australian  and New Zeland cause its need to be a hard fought war. And the Big $ companies that run our country would be ok with that. Because china would be the real challenge but then they lose there cheap labor of kids that build products to sell to us.
