That's to do with Charm I'd say.  Was playing around with mmud explorer the other day and discovered that if your charm is high enough (>=550), everything becomes free.  Not sure if mmud would list items then as free or 0 gold.
If we can hit that bulls-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.? Check-mate!

Charm affects prices on a percentage basis I thought, so unless Proteus has 550 CHA, then those prices are way off.

Oh, for sure.  Looking at mmud explorer, it definitely seems to work on percentage.  I was just assuming that it might be Vitoc's charm/price formula.  Someone else should wander over to newhaven and see if it's the same for them (I'm looking at you Locke... although I should check if I AM locked out.... omw now)

Ok, I'm NOT locked out of newhaven, and the prices appear the same for me (also in Newhaven General store)

I'd like to revise my opinion (since prices aren't screwed up for me anywhere else).  I now believe it's a shop price markup issue.

I looked and it was the same for me (and I have 110 CHA). Not really a good comparison I imagine since I think Proteus had significantly less CHA (so, in theory, it only gets worse with higher values of CHA).

And actually, the shop listing should not show the adjusted cost (MajorMUD doesn't). The shop listing should always show the standard cost.
