Has anything new been added to the Server yet?

I've been working on the GreaterMUD framework and TGS service (it used to be a windows app).  When I do implement it, there won't be any noticable changes in game, but it will lay the foundation for lots of web tools that will provide reporting and interact with the realm.

Nilyen, are you still around I hope?  Any news?

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

I don't get it why do you have to make it a service?

Isn't that what http://www.firedaemon.com/ is for?

I poked around on the site a bit and it appears (correct me if I'm wrong) that the program costs $39.  There's already a solution included in VS2005 itself.  If GreaterMUD is ever distributed, I'm sure people will be thankful that they won't be paying an extra $40 for something that could have been implemented for free.

I've learned a lot about architecture working at GameSpy for the past 10 months.  I want a service that runs without any of the unnecessary GUI components used in a winforms app.  Instead, I want GUIs to plug into this running service, and these can be either a winforms app OR (more exciting to me) a web app, allowing the realm admins to perform tasks over the web.  I'm going to have to write all the code to respond to these requests anyway, so I figure why not just shed the needless windows forms app altogether now and make it a true service.

I'm still around too not that anyone asked about me.... lol... I'm just having a overly busy summer and it hasn't given me much time to work on much anything.

Well mines due to poor project management therefore a horrible deadline :)

I keep looking at my floor and the sheet I made up detailing the parts of samurai armour and then I run out and get drunk to avoid it.

I think it needs more testing...

That sounds like GreaterMUD , except the deadline part :)
Not every project can be as well organized and as successful as Rise of Terror.

WoW might come close...
