Note - I moved the Bestiary Resources in the new resource section

I figured since the info that was here is now in its new home it would be good to atleast do something with this still pinned topic so post your favorite monsters: any creature from any source or your own work is good to post.

Is this chiefly for creatures that haven't really appeared in Majormud at all? I could probably try and find all my old D&D books and such. I think I know a guy who has the original Monster Manual.

Nono...see this thrad has the ability to be very nice...  Make it be what you like.

I have a tarraque named animel running about right now..but mine is a gaint ooze.

Bubbling ooze and putrid slime gather here.  The stench of rot and decay nearly overwhelms your senses.  Popping and slushing devouring all in its path, this abomination is a serious threat to even the most powerful.

That would be me. Except I'm not a guy. And it's pdf-style.

I think if a certain creature name exists (no matter what the source) it should be true to the vision of what it already is. Nobody wants to take a swing at a goblin only to have it scream and cause your head to explode.

That's an overly simplistic example, but it is possible that someone out there knows what that obscure monster you picked out of a D&D module is...just because you didn't read all the manuals cover to cover is no reason to cast it out the window.

I am never sleeping in my car again.

Well I'm sorry that dnd used the name, but the only tarrasque im familar with was a 'giant' who's form was unknown. :p

Hey, I never heard of it before either...

Don't worry about it I was getting drunk and kind of manic at the same time, I'm not saying cast it out the window I'm just saying provide some extra info so people will understand what it is, theres so many monster names out there that something will confuse someone at some point so posting something like:

BTW: I deleted my message to make you all look crazy  :P j/k I was bored, can't help it. haven't slept yet.... need sleep.... arrrrrg!!!

Classic Tarrasques from D&D:

Tarrasques are huge dragon looking titans from what I've seen, they are about 70 feet long and 50 feet tall, and it weigh about 130 tons. To go on a bit more about it all the souces i've come across make it seem like it is unkillable or at least no-one has ever seen one die. Secondly they most of them mention that there are only one of these in existence in any given world.

At any rate I thought I'd share that and one page I got some of the info from they list some varients that have been made with the creature type too:

You don't have to rename it but it would be interesting to have a reason that it went from dino looking to ooze looking.

TCA

If it was primordial ooze, it could be reverse evolution.

Oooh...and the PCs could revert to cavemen while in the realm, turning to ooze themselves if they don't get out in time.

Oh wait....we don't want to make the children cry...must remember that.

Evolution?  WTF bitch! god made me this way!

You mean the great physicist in the sky? You know we're all just part of his science fair project? ::)

...in the 7th grade division, no less.
