I am not sure what was changed but monsters are now casting between round spells before the combat round when they should not be able to cast them until after the end of the first round (between round one and two for example). A few examples of this are Banshees (my personal demon) casting fear as soon as you enter the room...dread planewalkers casting the darkness spell pre-combat..gremlins casting entangle pre combat.

I can only imagine how this will affect trying to kill Mind Flayer Magus and Dark Phoenix, probably other as well.

a class that has enta or hold can do that pre combat round...why cant a monster? same with blind....now archmage casting spir in between rounds or before initial engagement doesnt make sense to me tho....

These spells are meant to be cast during the combat round, the only reason they aren't being cast that way is that syntax erroneously labeled them 'between round' when he was making the database viewer.

I like this mechanic, bosses should be harder & require some skill/planning - leave it, imo, working as intended, like a player can cast spells between rounds. Let's not nerf bosses... they are almost the only challenge left,
