I had this idea. Add a alignment based npc's that sells runes. Runes can be minor bless spells that fade after 24 hours. Some can even have negative affect along with the good ones. Since they last 24 hours they will be costly and give players something else to constantly spend money on.

Momma always said there were gonna be days like this.... she just never said there would be so many in a row.

Thats a good idea, could be done similar to how the amazon's will cast spells on you for money.  Except these spells will last a long time.

Im thinking maybe you get a rune slot in your inv every 5 levels or so so later on you can buy the same rune more than once. For example, at level 50 you could carry 10 crit runes gaining a bonus of +10 to crits.

Thats doable, but also really odd.  I think the number of runes cast on a character should be based on which npc casts them, rather than on the character themselves.

Runes are drawn in magical ink on the body. This ink also happens to be slightly poisoness.
There-to-fore older peple have a higher resistance. Nuf said <3.

So i suppose the evil rune drawers wont have any issue giving more runes than the good ones.  Nuff said.

agreed but then evil runes will have penalties since you are poisoning your body. Almost nuff said.

How about "runecrafted" item(s) of sorts? Combining say, a fire rune, mithril ingots, an ornate hilt and a rune of binding would create a flaming mithril shortsword(decent 1h dmg with !00% fire dmg hits added). Combining a greater rune of arcane power, gnarled length of silverwood, diamond, sapphire, ruby, and a rune of binding would create a greater magestaff(+5% Alter spell length, +3% Alter spell dmg value). Ingots could be obtained by trading in or smelting mined ore. Silverwood could be harvested from, you guessed it, some kind of 1 per day node in Silverwood Forest, accessible only after you please the Wood Elves enough for them to grant you access to their wood (lolz). Runes could be low drop from chests for lesser ones, or gained through npcs for greater ones, and could also be used individually to grant you long-term buffs as described above.
