Message when trying to enter a safe-room while in combat:
You may not enter that room while in combat.
You are not permitted in that room!

Message when trying to enter a safe-room during retaliation period:
You may not enter that room during a retaliation time-period.
You are not permitted in that room!

Retaliation period only applies to the PC who initiated combat (outside of any other retaliation period).  They are marked with a "I was bad" flag, and can be attacked EP-free, and can't enter safe-rooms.
If we can hit that bulls-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.? Check-mate!

One more thing:

When trying to inititiate combat in a safe-room, you should see the message:
You are overcome with a feeling of guilt and break off your attack.

Rather than combat starting, then stopping at first combat tick.

Bank of Godfrey
You notice shadowy corselet here.
Also here: Jackote, Kal, Animal, Hooka, Vitoc, Sysop, Beezlebub, Princess.
Obvious exits: north, east, closed gate west
[HP=3203]:a kal
*Combat Engaged*
*Combat Off*
[HP=3203]:
If we can hit that bulls-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.? Check-mate!

I think we should just leave this part out and forget it was ever in there.

Sorry but the idea you can't walk into say the bank after attacking someone just seems kinda stupid to me.

It's to keep people from abusing protected rooms (of course MajorMUD still lets people abuse it anyways by hanging and re-entering, but this at least deters people from simply walking right in).

I'm very familiar with the issues around this. I've seen more often then not both the attacker and person getting attacked abusing protected rooms so it kinda negates the value of it. This is one of those reasons why I would vote to just get rid of them with the exception of death rooms but untill then I would would love to see just some improvement over how they are handled or to at least code in more options on how to handle a single protected room. Such as: Protection with retaliation ban or Protection without retaliation ban. One of the other changes I would say to add in is to freeze the players EP when they walk into a protected room so they can't simply wait off their evil points in a protected room.

Clone of MMUD first, then major new changes. :P
