Seriously (and this may be the beer talking, but also not), it's really good to see the forums active again.  To have new bugs to find, to see other ppl finding bugs.  But in general for the "community" to be active again.  And that's what it is Vitoc.  You've created a community.  Nice work dude, you've done a sweet job.  Appreciated.
If we can hit that bulls-eye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards.? Check-mate!

Thanks Ian. ;)

I can't thank everyone enough for their various contributions as well.  I can't venture a guess as to when GMUD will be released, but I can definitely say this burst of community support has already brought that date much closer.  I'd love nothing more than for all you guys to hang around while these bugs are knocked out and keep finding new ones.  In the meantime hopefully word will spread and we'll have ourselves an active realm and an active message board that isn't a dark festering hole of pessimism and sarcasm like that other forum.  The days of blaming metro and laughing at the thought of ever seeing mod 10 are over.  Time to move forward.

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

But I like dark festering holes of pessimism and sarcasm.... It reminds me of my youth....  ;)

I look forward to that day that you release Greater mud .I too am tired of the way Metro has treated its"customers".No word from them in months.
Congrats to all on  the work everyone has been doing.
With the content of MMUD everyone will be used to the game and your uses online should go up alot.
Just a question, this greater mud will be a stand alone application right?Only downside I see is it may speed the death of Worldgroup. MMud is what keeps it alive.

GreaterMUD is a module that runs on top of TGS (Telnet Game System).  TGS is an extremely light weight telnet server.  When I say lightweight, think of programs like notepad (it's under 100kb).  It's seriously just the bare essentials; all you'll really need for programs like MUDs, other interactive games, Teleconf, etc.  That being said it should offer everything any would-be module creator needs to shield themselves from the inner workings of telnet.

I'm aiming for GreaterMUD and TGS to be under $50 total (maybe even cheaper) which will also include support via E-mail and forums.  Compare that to the $1000+ for Major MUD and modules plus another $1000 or so for WG with minimal (if any) support, and I'd say TGS and GMUD will be a more than fair deal.

Wow sounds great!I hate to even think of what i paid over the years for 2 worldgroup and 2 MMud programs plus the user licenses and other games and ect,
I will be first in line when ever you release it  :)
Did you ever hear from Metro? Did they let you use their content or did you just decide to use it since they don' t seem to care anymore.
Sounds like with this small telnet program and the ability to add modules it could become a great BBS program.
