Room Walking - it's a little whacky and not making sense.

I do like the idea of being able to zip in and out of rooms.

I think the engine is messed up though and not taking into account for other things.

1. Halflings wearing silk gear carrying no rope and no keys should nicely between rooms.

2. Ogres are slow in every way in mud for 10+ years.  Their description is slow.  When you look at one from a character perspective in town saying hi, they looks slow.  they have 90 points of agility less than a halfling.  Ogres shouldnt be ultra speedy.

3. There should be a combination of encumberance and agility taken into account.  Strength then would YET again be the best thing for a class.  It already is accuracy in regular mud, which is dumb.  Strength and accuracy really never had a thing in common, in sports, in recreation games, etc.  So long as you could hold something up with adequate strength, your dexterity and MIND made you accurate.  your muscles, sorry to say do not.  But, while this may be beating a dead horse, and the users who like this are typical afk - multidupe - multi ogre smashers who never help anyone and just hoarde shit in ganghouse and who often post the most, it still is rediculous to keep Strength the best stat and now make it even BETTER in this new and non metro fucked up mud.  Just balance it please! It is easy to do!

4. well what else to say. hm.  Oh: it appears that a bunch of people find the room walk thing fine in gossip.  I then tell them i think it is due to your previous bbs's being run like crap and your pings being bad and laggy.  They never respond.  They know its the case or else not sure if its the case but suspect i could be correct.  I play on thekeep.net.  It is run sick smooth. pure connection.  I have also FIOS which is 20 megabit down 5 up, and my latency and ping is like 12-13 for gaming or for mudding.   I walk faster in majormud regular non edited than i do at 30% enc on this bbs.   reasons?  not sure exactly.  But it needs a lot of tweaking.

5. brings me to the next possibility.  Input pause.  Ever try making a macro to pick up your gear? or , hit the GET ALL button on your megamud?  yes, the first item ZIPS into inventory.   the next items looks like your pulling it out of a swamp... blip.... blip.... blip.... very slow.  This is very different from regumud.  Needs to be fixed. 

6. users comming back to the game who will buy time to play (100's out there waiting to come back) will not want to be going ultra slow between rooms.  It is bad marketing.  I dont want this to fail from $$ perspective.  I know $$ over mud or gaming or anything.  THis is why it bad idea to make a new version of a game notably more difficult than a previous version or take longer time to do what you want.
