Combat gmud vs major, plus a couple others

So Here's a direct comparison between gmud and majormud. I got a majormud witchie with exactly the same gear and level and scripted blue dragons solo, just like in gmud (I even disabled their breath weapons like we have in gmud)

Here's results after 4 and a half hours:

Combat is very badly off. Crits are way down, and accuracy is horrible. (We knew all this, but seeing it side by side...)

I wouldn't be to concerned with +10 hp it might sound like a big thing but since its a random roll never expect it to be the same. I'm more concerned with the martial arts being off +7 (gmud) and yet still having the change in crits and accuracy showing a dif of +6 crits and +12 accuracy in favor of Reg mmud...

Anyone have a exact dupe combat 1 Race/Class that we could look at @ LVL 51...

did not do all the quests in the majormud char. just ice sorceress. which means that you need to add a little crits to the majormud char....

if you do want a combat 1 char tested, I can do that. will have to wait til next weekend, tho

That would help.... We can really use as much data as possible especially if we really want to have a chance to nail it down. So feel free to post for C2 to C4 too if you're willing...

One thing that would also help improve the data quality a little is too add in a baseline stat capture @ LVL 51 "ie no stat changes" Since that would remove the stat bonus aspect from the regmud side and let us do some extra compares. Which would let us see if the missing %'s are coming from just lvl bonuses or from stats or both....

The other thing I really need to know is if your inventory was the same on both characters. Since Gmud does differ in using a fully dynamic enc % penalty rather then sticking to a stepped one. So in Gmud every copper counts but it also means theres a slight difference between the bottom end of one enc step to the top of the same one... However knowing what it was at would help remove that from any of the calculations...

I had encumbrance exactly the same. I believe it was 4060/9000 (45%).

I have vacation next week, so I'll be doin not a whole lot. Ill do some comparisons like you wanted. LIke base stats etc. Get a list of ideas together. I can pretty do anything I need. I have nmr and know how to edit majormud as needed...

Well if you want to do the base stats version at intervals of 10 levels that would let us try to plot a graph easier. I don't expect it to be wildly off but its better then just assuming its purely linear.

The stats bonuses are really the more difficult portion to figure out though (in terms of work needed). Still I think the easiest way would probably test each stat by it self at a given increment at a set level. such as str at 60 at lvl 20 and then again at 60 at lvl 30.

Then we need to subtract out the known acc and crits from the baseline tests to see if it differs dependant on level. If it does then we need to test out each stat at each of the same level intervals so we can figure out what the level portion of the formula is. However if its doesn't differ at various lvls then its just a matter of harvesting the data for a few stat values to key that in better. There's also the little matter of removing the ac pen out of the data too or we'll end up with it doubling up...

I'm not sure if that really works well as a list though (snicker)....
