Warrior Tweak(s)

Warriors, the melee masters of the realm, do not have a great ability to perform un-armed combat. IMHO, a warrior is the master of ALL melee weapons, including bare-hands, and I feel that warriors should get a higher martial arts stat. A warrior should be able to fight just as well with a weapon as without one, with the difference being the obvious lack of greater damage from not weilding a wep. Martial arts is the determining stat in un-armed combat but warriors do not get much of a bonus in this field, as compared to a mystic, which is fully designed for bare-hands. In summation, warriors should be able to fight empty-handed.

So you want a warriors hands to be mag 5?

I'd definately consider this *IF* we reintroduced shatter or created a disarm ability, short of that it seems a little like a waste of time. Warriors certainly wouldn't get the same abilities as mystics, so unless we take either of those first steps, which is entirely possible...lets skip this for now.

If you used their current encumbrance and inversely effect MA, +Crits, Dodge etc.  Heavy side warriors are low crit, AC/DR tanks, light ones fight like a mystic with only punch, or maybe punk and kick.  At any weight they would be equivalent to almost any class, but with Combat-4 and no special abilities.

Punch/Kick/Jumpkick is boring enough without mystics having to share their trademark with anyone else, if warriors are going to have any unarmed combat ability it won't be a copy of the mystic's ability.

shatter is so under used its not even funny. I mean seriously the only weapons that shouldn't be able to be shattered are the unique ones. I'd be all for this. There's a ton of armed and unarmed strikes that aren't in the game too. So it wouldn't be to hard to come up with something along the lines of basic hand to hand combat.

Only proble with shatter is going through the item database and adjusting quality settings on like...every weapon.  Might as well do armor too, case i kinda wanna make a rust ability.

I would think shatter should be reworked a little anyway. I'm thinking a little more on the lines of shatter # (material type #) vs material type # (quality #). Since you could have separate abilities to shatter each type of weapon material. Which would make it a bit more versatile in the long run.

It would also open up having weapon vs weapon hitspells having effects like a copper sword being shattered by an iron sword (in that stronger beats weaker material direction) and similar dynamics. Similarly in that type of thinking you could even take it further by run it using per combat instance using shatter counters and durability. For instance if the number of shatter counters exceeds the durability the weapon shatters. The counters could even auto reset after a small out of combat grace period so its simulating continued weapon stress rather then permanent damage to an item.

Could also have a shockshatter type of ability that works like of like shockshield for dishing out shatter counters to an attacker. And even a shatter resist ability that helps negate a portion of shatter counters.

No, they should not be as powerful as mystics, and they should not be mag5. I am simply stating that warriors are the MASTERS of melee combat, whether it would be with a weapon or barehanded. All I'm saying is that they should be able to do well enough to get the job done with their fists. Warriors are the melee masters of any game of this nature, melee does not mean weapon. Melee is close-quarters combat and they should be able to fight better empty-handed.

I don't want you guys to think that I want them to be as powerful as mystics, I do not. I would just like to see a higher martial arts stat on a warrior then normal.

doesn't MA raise dodge too? or am I thinking in reverse. An easy fix to this is to give 'em like punch +2. something realistic on a sliding scale almost.

A more accurate way of thinking about is that MA is DODGE+Crits. On mystics it is basically just a convoluted version of that plus punch+kick+jumpkick.
