Chest fails to cast/open

sorry if this has been reported before but i didnt see it at a quick glance. crap i also now dont have the cap in my backscroll. here is what happened....for what it is worth

1. got a great blackwood chest (finally haha)
2. couldn't pick it up due to enc issues
3. dropped a piece of equipment
4. picked up chest
5. typed "use chest" and got a "You attempt to cast open chest, but fail."

at this point the chest was removed from my inventory and i do not have any loots from the chest etc. again sorry about the cap, i had it in my clipboard and forgot and copied something else.

Sounds like there is a test being run that shouldn't be run. chests call a textblock look to create a reward and loop through a mandated order of reward structures. So if it's failing before the first constructs of that then the bug should be in the call textblock function area. I can't think of any test textblocks for opening chests so this is a little bizarre.

Probably because he USEed the chest instead of OPENing it.

hmm, ive always used "use chest" in oldmud. if i get another i will try "open chest" and see what happens. i didnt know open worked too hehe.

edit: using the "open" command worked this time.
