As you know, we have had some issues as of late with ops in pvp doing things they should not do.  Our happy little realm has been majorly disrupted.  I have spent the past 2 weeks trying to clean up all of the mess.  Tonight I was able to get the last of the op genned limited items out of the game and flush them.  Every limited item in the game now is legit.

We all know what happened with DeathCow and ThunderGod by now.  I personally feel that this situation should be made right by restoring ThunderGod to the level he was prior to DeathCow rolling him.  He was level 35 at the time.  I want to have the opinion of the rest of the realm.  You've all been very vocal about what you thought of what DC did so I'm sure you'll all have no objections to me restoring ThunderGod to level 35.  Right?  I will not replace gear nor will I force the current owner of his old gang house to give it back.  That will be between them.

I am going to put you on the spot though.  If you vote not to restore ThunderGods character, then you will post a message here, for everyone to see, explaining exactly why you think this is not the right thing to do.  Votes of "No" with no message posted will NOT be counted.

I cannot comment, or choose not to comment without the story behind DC/TG.

Gardner, can you explain what happened ...  did DC roll TG for being less than cordial or something?

While ThunderGod did contribute to what happened by heaping a pile of abuse on DeathCow, the first step in making him stop should have been a warning followed by either a suspension or removing his ability to talk.  Rolling a player out of the game, especially a gang leader of a large & active gang, as a first warning is, in my opinion, not acceptable.

If TG was rolled by DC for a profanity laced tirade, TG should probably be restored, albeit with a suspension or other penalty (one could argue that the suspension has been served based on his absence from the game?).

I think the procedure for dealing with people who continue to issue personal attacks against OPs or other users should be the following:

1. Warn the person that continuing to use inappropriate language wil llead to a suspension
2. If it continues suspend that user
3. If it continues ban that user

Edited by Gardner.

Smack talk goes in the smack talk section.  Keep the rest of the forums clean and respectable please.

TG is a loose cannon.  He always pushes the envelope with racial slurs, op abuse etc.  We all talk a hefty amount of smack.  Curse. Call each other names.  But this guy just goes over the top and intentionally harasses DC.  He has been warned and I say you reap what you sow.  I heard that he was jailed and sticky killed him in the jail cell.  If this is true call the boolance.  Nobody else seems to have a problem with ops taking revenge; it is clearly a function of this guy's personality and his belligerence.

You do have  a right to say what you want but you also must suffer the consequences of your actions.

Hmm, I voted yes before reading this post on the assumption that DC rolled TG directly. Can we have Gardner (or someone) spell out exactly what happened so we can get a clear idea of how to vote?

When I played dialup back in the day getting jailed for harassing the ops was pretty normal practice. Summoning T-Rexes or sys lightning or whatever is one thing, but if TG got jailed for repeatedly being an overboard ass then got killed as a result of being jailed I don't really have a problem w/ that. It should've been spelled out as a possible punishment ahead of time but punishing abusive users is what the sys jail command is for imo. Not DC's fault if someone found him in the cell, assuming this is in fact how it went down.

The sys jail (map 1 room 44) is different from a normal jail.  The only way into it is via teleports and there are no exits from that cell.  You just have to wait there until released.  DC loaded up the room with monsters, not players, then ported TG into the room.  That's what got him rolled and that is what I want to rectify.

Oh, well that's clearly over the top. If that's the case I say restore him.

Regardless of whatever emotion is evoked in you with the understanding of what DC did to TG or what may have caused it, sysop interference of that nature just isn't kosher at all.

Suspensions and Bans? Fine.

Tyrannical, blatant abuse of power to show your "dominance" over a player? Lame and uncalled for. Possibly downright pathetic.

The voting is open for 2 more days.  Nobody sees the results until the voting is closed.  I want each person to vote how they feel not how the rest of the realm is voting.
