Would you support triple EP burns (3x the current rate) when Seedy to Fiend, and half EP burns (1/2 current rate) when Neutral to Saint?

The current setup here is that you burn EPs at an excruciatingly slow rate. It's so easy to go to FIEND, but it takes three weeks to go to Neutral. That is a ridiculous idea for a PVP Realm. Of course, we are all here to test it out. So with this proposed system it would therefore take only one week to go neutral from fiend. Because it is a pvp Realm, this cycle will promote pvp.

The third option here is to extend a 'retal' period for only alignment reasons. It will work the same as normal retal, but it will last for two hours.

This is only an option after you can "pledge", if you want to be a fiend you should be able to stay fiend, or at least make it optional, even better, increase ep range by 3-4 times and sure increase the regen rate by 3-4 times.

Thanks for voting (you didn't vote). I like your pledge idea, but the simple system I laid out right here requires a lot less programming, and it also makes evils attack people or things more. You have pretty much 5 days to go cloud, otherwise you're going neutral. That ultimately means, you can't just linger as an evil, either, so you better be active. 5 days, I mean really. If you can't keep your EP's high after 5 days, then you should go to neutral anyway.

I'd rather see a system where you have all good, neutral, and evil points and the relative renown of your character is based on an average with a secretive system on exactly how neutral works ie could go either way depending on the quest. The whole of the neutral points would be counted as whole even though it could at the same time distribute a number of EP point structures.

I think what you're trying to say is that the evil system needs a major overhaul, and I agree with that. However, that's not what's going to happen any time soon, and here I am focusing on how to polish the current system with quick fixes -- until a programmer gets to it.

Can someone translate this? :)

removing the ep cap fixes all problems.

The problem is that what you are suggesting will require a programmer to implement, and it represents a significant overhaul to the alignment system.  I would be opposed to making a change like this until the base alignment system is bug free.  However I would not be opposed to raising then number of eps burned off per hour from .50 to .75 or 1.0 per hour.

Why not just put Repent Mod on until someone (cough Vitoc) decides it's time to fix these things?

Given the bugs with what attacks evils, do you really want to try to get to Chancelor annora ??

Considering that I'm not playing on Greatermud at all, I don't really have to worry about it.

Vitoc could just fix the bugs too.

Neither are happening any time soon.

rotten why u quit u die on pvp then u quit??? come play

Dragon, Remember when you went by sry/Natalie and talked normal? what happened?

I meant this as action generated points could be counted different then alignment quest accumulated points i.e two tallies form where on you land via viewable alignment structures. Such as you could be neutral alignment and have slaughtered a lot of good people and be viewed as evil regardless of what quest arch your on. The proportional amounts would be kept secret however their effects of the averaging and calculated values would be apparent in the game. It's similar to how it is done now yet it wouldn't need to effect gear structure or area restrictions. Each type of action good, neutral, or evil would be accounted for to make up a renown structure. And each alignment quest structure would decide which point accumulation value was valued more such as every good point equals say 0-100% of it's total value. The three values are then combined and averaged to give a complete value.

There are also issues like:
Should a evil player gain eps when attacking a good player.
Should a good player gain good points when attacking a evil player.
Should a neutral player gain either unless attacking a neutral player.
And many others really there are a ton of issues when looking at the EP issue.
