Playing Op

Hey Gardner,

      Why do you let Jigga play while he is an op. It has only been 1 day and people (me included) are already accusing him of cheating. I realize there is a lot more than just me and 3 others in the realm but the people that were involved in our discussion today agreed that we don't care to have a playing op in the realm. As this is not much choice all i can do is tell you what i think.

A) He wasn't supposed to use lims as you told him on day 1 but yet he used the crystal shortsword all the way up through half of today until he ditched it when the other thief hit 10. Him using that weapon most definitely benefited Cloud/Kilo who have been with him since day 1.

B) You said he is not playing competitively but there is no way to NOT play competitively when he is playing with other chars who ARE playing competitively. In helping them with race to the top 10 and get items he IS INDEED playing competitively.

C) There was an argument that they completed the phoenix feather legit but my party had dread mystic and leo the quick on a timer yet they "claim" they snuck in and got a kill on him. All i can say that is not believable as we killed dread mystic every 3 hours since we started to kill him and stayed on leo just as much. I am not sure how gmud works but last i knew you couldn't get to necromancer without a magical quartz rod which they cannot get until they kill dread mystic from my understanding. Since we had him on a timer it is just not believable that they did the quest legit. I am not sure what Jigga can do as a mudop but the only thing i can think of is either their is a bug somewhere that allowed them to get past all the feather quest or jigga gened a magical quartz rod for them to get there. This could be completely out there and wrong but i would sure like it if you can look into it.

I can't speak for the realm as much as i wish i could, but i would much like to see no ops playing. If he wants to play he should be stripped of op powers and play just like any other user. Otherwise he should be at 0 exp in the bank like Vitoc/TwoGirls.

Im pretty sure (last time i checked) that you do not actually have to kill him, you just need to be in the room when he is killed.

He and I discussed this already.  He is no longer running with Kilo & Cloud per my request.  The CSS is in the hands of another theif.  Jigga is currently looping a low exp area, by himself, and I have asked him, per Vitocs rules regarding ops on the top 10, to allow himself to be knocked out of the top 10.

Kilo has 1 limited, the questor for his class, and Cloud has 2 limiteds.  The mask and a weapon.

As far as the feather quest goes:

As you can see Jigga & Cloud hit level 15 first by more than an hour.  It's entirely possible that they started the quest and just camped Dread to catch a kill.  I have no evidence or reason to suspect that they did anything other than that.

     I see what you are saying but we killed the dread mystic and had his timer long before they trained to lvl 15. We killed him at 1:53am pst for the first kill i am not sure if you can see this info but if you can you will see i am telling the truth. As for them getting a dread mystic kill i dont' see how it is possible as we killed the dread mystic at 10:53 and and continued to loop until Duraz hit lvl 15. Once we this on our way out they were camping the dread mystic and when we returned to kill him again at 1:57ish we had killed Leo the quick on teh way back out to Rhudaur and by the time we finished our feather quest, they had supposedly completed the quest legit. This is not possible because they would have needed all the components but we killed leo on the way back out.

     The only time that they could have done this when we were not at keys was at 4:53am pst and at this point there was NO WAY jigga was lvl 15.

Hey now, I KNOW I was the last of the top 5 to hit 15, no need to rub it in!  

When did TaNkIn hit 15? It should correspond closely to a Dread kill iirc.

I mainly am playing the Non PVP Realm. With no limiteds. I asked Gardner if I could use the crystal shortsword til the other Thief hit 10. He said okay, but only for that day. I gave it right to him when he hit level 10.

I have two characters on the PVP Realm, again with no limiteds. I'm making a measly 7k an hour or something like that. I have not and will not attack anyone, hopefully in return no one will attack me. If it's that big of a deal I won't play on there, but I'll likely end up not know who's who and what's going on.

I love GreaterMUD. I'm on here more than I am on my own BBS. It's fun. It's the only game I play. I feel that part of being an effective Op is being 'in the loop' which is hard to do when you're not playing. Plus when the Realm gets older, I will be able to help new users get a start.

I don't see at all why someone would be so mad that we did the phoenix feather quest before them. The quest can be done every three hours. We sat in the Dread Mystic's room afk. Later that day we had the flag/item(s) we needed for the quest. Who ever was looping Shadowfist would have had to walk into the room to make him regen. I have no access to boss regen times the way an Op does in MajorMUD.

The people complaining are in first through third place. They have first kills on Thrag, Golem, Ancient Ruin, Leo the Quick, the chest, their level 10 questers, and whatever else they got, yet it's a problem that I was involved in the phoenix feather quest. C'mon.

If following the rules is an issue, then the whole day these guys were calling a cheating/faggot/bitch/etc... The rules state that there should be no flaming of that sort in the Non PVP Realm and to go do it in the PVP Realm. Did I complain? No.

I scripted with two other players for a day or two. They don't even want me with them anymore because I lower their exp rate. They are a Warrior and a Cleric, I'm a Thief. I'm the one who was benefiting from the party, not them.

The glory days of this game were when Gardner was hands off and constantly dupe sniffing.  Introducing 2 new people's feelings to be hurt is going to make satisfying the general population of players much more difficult.  I guess though, you guys got what you asked for.
