PVP Realm Reset

I've made it clear im against dupes, its up to Vitoc and Gardner though.

I don't know where Gardner has been (anyone heard anything?).  I thought the unlimited dupe thing was a bad idea from the start, but I'm not active in the realms so I kept my mouth shut and just set it up as requested.

I'm okay with doing a reset if that's the consensus.

my question is, who is going to be the one that has access to ppls ips to monitor the no dupe rule if in fact the realm turns that way??

and i do agree there should be no gjr even tho i voted for one...luci made that point, should give everyone an extra 300 hps if hogs get gjr...

it was also brought up to not reset and maybe give everyone to a certain date to get prepped to pick one char and log off all other dupes...

id like to hear what others have to say about it....just like goin to the polls, ya dont vote ya dont really have a right to bitch about the outcome later...

No matter what happens we need to be rid of dupes.  There's no point in them other than not having to rely on others which totally defeats the purpose of the game. 

I'd prefer a reset, so we could start from a clean slate without the previous help that people may have incurred with the use of their 999999999999999999999999999 dupes.   Plus the realm really is dirty.

I've also noticed that things have started to actually lag where as they didn't before.  I'm not sure if that's because of the increase in number of users because of dupes.  Also, it seems that you ghost now?  Whereas I've never seen that before on GMUD.  I know you can get killed in pvp and still have your character in the halls, tomb, etc. after you've logged off, but that's been a known bug for awhile and unexploitable since they are safe rooms.

I know of several players looking for a new place to kick it, but they won't do so unless the dupes are gotten rid of. 

And for any of you morons who want to argue about keeping dupes:  LOL, If you want dupes, create your own server and play as many dupes as you like on it. 

We need to get back on track with testing this realm and faceraping each other instead of pissing around.  I for one would like to see some new content before we die from climate change.

  Vitoc is 100% anti-microtransaction, and or selling anything that benefits players.  Also I believe he is anti-selling anything that wouldn't benefit players, but they might pay for anyways.    He isn't looking to make money off GreaterMUD, ever.  He just wants to create the engine for the benefit of the community, without regards to cost.

I wouldn't bitch if his work was up to my standards :) however anything Vitoc does hes going to get bitched at but if making some side money would give him more interest in programming the game then he should do it for as of right now he has 0 interest.

i already donated 20 bucks...it would be kinda dumb to not accept donations for gjr tho...lots of realms have done it...everyone in pvp gettin one for free i think no go....vitoc dont give 2 shyts about who has a gjr or not...impossible....

I know some who would play as well. The unlimited dupe thing was a joke at the start and is considered a joke now among those in the "majormud community". All 17 of them.
Fermouth actually makes a lot of good points, and realistically when Will is the one suddenly dropping steaming meat-nuggets of intelligence onto the forum, you know things are screwed up.

This is an awesome idea, not only since I'm too lazy/stupid to remember to buy torches, but it could assist Vitoc - at least a little - with Greatermud shit. Anything helps, right? And I know most/all of us want Greatermud to be awesome. Also, if you knew Vitoc like I do, you'd know that homeboy could use the duckets. The last time we hung out, we ate some Golden Grahams he shoplifted from Walmart and watched Tango & Cash. Again. On beta.

Count me in for NO DUPES. +15/-15 level PvP. Would love GJRs based on "donation" (my_balls.jpg) but I'm able to live (unhappily, like usual) without them.
I'd also say floor sweeps, but no gang house sweeps. That's dumb. They are in danger of being raided anyhow. It seems like that sort of thing ends up self-correcting itself without an op sweeping.
But by far most importantly, no dupes. How that actually works in terms of enforcement is another thing, but I think all of us agree that dupes are DUMB.

Also for the reset, someone needs to man up and be a big brother to Deathcow. He needs more to do, or at least a hobby. I'm serious. When I type "top" and see his name, I think of him in his hyper-humid bedroom for days, wearing his Naruto long underwear and sitting on his butt-smelling computer chair, cackling maniacally as he types out commands to his 67 different characters, lovingly caressing each keypress as if he was lightly grazing the plastic face-skin of his japanese real-doll, forgotten-for-the-moment and crumpled in the corner of his room like a murdered prostitute, nearly hidden amidst the (mostly empty) cardboard Papa John's boxes.

I'm saying someone should help the guy. Maybe give him some healthier alternatives. Foods high in fiber. 7-8 hours of sleep. A soul.

Noone in our gang wants a reset.  So there's 8 or 9 votes for no.

Besides... Duhh, Mers, Hulk opinions shouldn't count since they "don't care about mud".

No Reset, No GJR.  Just Kill all dupes.  give everyone a week or 2 to move all junk off their holders and dupes, into stashes and ganghouses.. and give you the char they want to keep.  And delete all the others.
