Hey i just made a warlock looked like i might be able to get some tanking AC.
When i use SHLD its supposed to give +12 ac but doesnt show on my stats and monsters still hit me that shouldn't...
Vitoc would it be hard to fix this so my warlock can actually tank??

I'm pretty sure ethereal shield gives something like 4/1 AC. Definitely nothing near 12 though.

This is supposed to give some AC though right? Is this a bug or by design?

It is.
Here's a thread where this bug was reported in 2008:
http://www.greatermud.com/forums/index.php?topic=1637.msg8825#msg8825

You played here in 2008 and you know full well there were far more important bugs here that needed to be addressed than this one spell that affects what, 3 classes and does not prevent them from playing the game.

You can spin it any way you want to. The bug's been around for 4 years.

There is no "spin" to anything.  When ranked against the other stuff that has been fixed since 2008 this falls so far down on the to do list it's not funny.

I fail to see how this isn't just a 20 seconds fix?

When Vitoc says "I have X number of hours to work on GMud today" I have to try and pick things that can be done in that time frame.  First on the list is always going to be major exploitable bugs.  If there is something that I need to help run the game that will also take priority over minor bugs.  The tools that were available to an op 4 years ago were no where near what we needed.  Nuisance bugs such as this bug with Ethereal Shield are always going to get shoved down the list so long as more serious bugs exist.

Is Ethereal Shield really more important than Druids being able to cast Elemental Fury 16 times in one round (4 yrs ago)?  I'm going to go out on a limb and say no.
Do you think that this is more important than the fact that we seemed to have a problem with limited items dropping in pvp?  I would say no.
Do you think it's more important than fixing the alignment problems with the monsters so evils don't get pwnt for walking into Khazarad?  I do not think so.
Do you think it's more important than fixing the party bug that still allows healers to heal people not in their party on pvp?  Nope.

Nobody is blaming you, Gardner. You're responsible for most of the good things that happen around here and everyone knows it.  You're not a bad guy, but you make so many excuses for Vitoc that it induces vomiting.

The bug has been around for 4 years.

Case closed.

You should.  I'm the reason it has been and this post is an attempt to explain why.

I think yall should quit spending "X" amount of hours/time to pick whatever you're gonna fix,  And just fix shit.  Less talk more action.
