It's early, they shouldn't be banned. I don't think anyone realistically is asking for that. But it would be nice if you could reply with something more constructive like "Hey, I talked to DC, and he's agreed to stop being a poopy butt nonstop regarding bugs, exploits, etc." Or even at the least "LOL that silly Deathcow, I will look into his latest hijinks."

The fact is that every push Deathcow participates in, he uses bugs/exploits, then boasts about it. I get that we are testing the game, blah blah - but I think you can see how that can get a little old after so many times.

Just from a "life being easier" standpoint, think of it this way:
Let's assume DC doesn't use any bugs from here on out. That's great, good for him. But anytime something funky happens everyone will assume he's up to something, and based on his history and the perception that he's "allowed" to do whatever he wants, you can't really fault the accusers. But that's going to lead to more headaches for you. Do you enjoy headaches? I don't think you do. (Maybe you do? Not judging.)

I'd like to think that Deathcow does these things simply to highlight the work that needs to be done on a very fun game. However, when he does it and then starts shit-talking, it's hard to imagine he's doing it for any other reason than to be a douche.

Anyone who has picked up item drops from pvp hangs this push has exploited a bug.  Anyone who's exp tracking is exploiting a bug.  Anyone who'd remained in a party and moved  out of a room while dropped is exploiting a bug.  The list goes on and on.  So no, I won't ban them.  No, I won't single them out for this.  I will ask that they don't do it but that will do as much good as asking everyone the other night not to pick up gear that dropped on pvp hangs because it was bug.

I would also wager that 1/3 of the realm is currently finding items they can use this bug with.

And you are correct Hulk, I don't care for headaches but no matter what decision I make I will get one so...

I know that you personally put in a lot more time here than Vitoc does.

You do, however, prioritize bugs for fixing.

This could've been fixed years ago as the response you made to the original post told us you had at least intended to do. Any problems as a result of exploitation of this bug rest squarely on the shoulders of the person who decided it wasn't important enough to fix.

You are correct.  The reason it was pushed back on the list was because there were other equally or even more exploitable items being addressed or something else that fell into the "we need  this very badly" category.  I'll take the blame for that since it was my decision to push it down on the list.

so what ur sayin is,  u can implement hang penalties successfully but cant seem to modify or unimplement them.....that pretty much sums it all up right there

I'm about tired of going round and round with you on this.  We loaded the update.  For some reason the code did not take.  We do not know why.  We'll fix it.  If you look at the banner at the top of the forums it clearly shows that a code base update was loaded on April 28th.  When you log into the game it shows the same thing.

I have over the past several years brought up the various system flaws that make this exploit possible.  I have explained why the flaws are wrong, and how to fix them multiple times.  It hasn't been fixed.

This particular use of these bugs is so minor compared to what is actually possible to do with this exploit.  Everything from instantly killing other players to gaining exp at a rate that makes OZ look like newhaven.

Simiply put, this needs to be fixed and I feel that it has a better chance of being fixed now.

and btw gard and vitoc....dc is still using the bug and killed a gang member with it again last night....what a joke....if dc is allowed to use bugs i say we all should exploit as many bugs as possible, find new ones, exploit them and not make any mention of them in bug forum....

You're condoning the behavior of the cheaters and the laziness of the developers by continuing to play here.
If people are playing here when everything is broken, what incentive is there to fix the problems? Why buy the cow when you're getting the milk for free?

The only real way to get Vitoc's attention is if everyone stopped playing here until the serious problems are addressed, and a path to an acceptable solution is laid out.
