February 16, 2014, 10:21:11 AM #15 Last Edit: February 16, 2014, 10:29:26 AM by Coarse Horse
This is part of the problem with having someone who is accountable to no one be the lone voice about content changes. Even if there was some justification, some of these changes give the impression of impropriety. The refusal to explain the changes adds to that perception.

The timing of the combat changes is also a little odd. I would understand it if we were in a lull before an imminent reset, but this is right in the middle of the first wave of a reset push. Many of us built our characters around stats/concepts that were altered by the changes last night. Are retrains going to be made available?

I'd rather have changes asap, so im not so +1 on this one, but still something to think about

So how does bash work now? Looks like 2.5-3x instead of just 3x, how does it determine if 2.5 or 3 though?
It's a roll.  2.50-3.00.

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

Something goofy on ninja

My miss went from 3-4% to 20%
My crit went from 37% to 18%
My avg round is down nearly 200, from 420 to 220.

And the big kick in the balls, the druid is now MORE accurate then the ninja by 13%!

Apparently dropping all gear and regearing fixed most of my combat issue. Player manager showed much higher crit and dodge rate then I was receiving. Its just about par now.

Why in the hell did you guys change the spells?? Hell, I'll take gdhe and dcor for my Cleric while you're at it...

What about your warlocks?

I don't have a Warlock... I have a Cleric and a Mage.

the only way to negate all this riffraff is for dc's pvp char to reroll to zero experience one time, and that would be the end of it. its humorous stuff like this that makes greatermud project's reputation a little more like dc's reputation.

reroll your character and we'll all shut up

Are retrains going to be made available?

Stat retrains are available.  Hit me up.  Race/class changes can only be done via reroll.

I'm a little confused here. How does warlock and gypsy getting these spells help? I mean the gypsy could benefit being combat 2 and all, but the lock? Is the spell mod so helpful that being able to cast glacial blades is better than melee with sped, fren, and smit? Also could either class realistically use these spells in a consistent manner until much much later in their careers? Or is this really only a pvp QoL type of change? Sorry if I'm not understanding or if these questions have been answered.....I've been gone from the mud world for a long time and I don't know much about greatermud. Thanks for any replies!

These spells are pretty powerful with spell mod.  No they can't use the like a full time caster would, but they can use them occasionally during combat, in pvp, or vs bosses.  These classes are certainly not the power houses of the realm but small steps will add up.

Okay so I was stumbling along the right path hahaha. I'm glad the spell mod is something useful. That information helped me decide to make a half elf druid on greatermud. Would have gone mage, but druid just feels more flexible. Can't wait to see some higher damage spells flying! I never played a full caster past the early 20's, so I'm hopeful. Thanks for the reply and I hope the gypsies and warlocks in the realms see good use of their new spells
