You fumble in confusion!
You fumble in confusion!
You fumble in confusion!
You fumble in confusion!
Your foes are drenched in acid as the wind batters them for 318 damage!

We can see from this that room spells are improperly trying to fire once per monster in the room. We can also see that the confusion is rolling once per swing-or in this case per bugged attempt with the room spell-which is what it is supposed to do. The bug with confusion comes in the fact that one fumble is supposed to end the round, but is only affecting one swing (or one bugged room spell attempt).

Just for some context, this essentially means that in an area like gremlins, you could fumble up to 6 times and still get a room spell cast off if you were in one of the 7 spawn rooms.

While some of your conclusions are a bit off, ya the way room spells operate isn't really up to standard.
