What had happened was I dove into the pool at the Oasis, it lagged, I panicked, /two @khaz'd and was just walking back to run through it again and both of my characters drowned.

To give you an answer so you actually understand why it happened, it's the same as a stock game. All of the "underwater" places, raks, frozen lake, d-elf moat, have room-exit spells to remove drowning. So if you don't run out of one of the ends and have that exit spell cast, you can drown anywhere in the realm. If it ever happens again and you port to town, run to the arena.

From Khaz, if you can get to the NPP rooms one out from the Fallen Angel, the rooms also remove all spells and can clean off drowning as well.  That area is scripted at some point in PVE and you can make it without much fighting at all.

No, it is more a function of the ports that have been set up.  If we didn't have realm ports, the drowning would take care of itself.  I don't know if the sys goto commands had any effect in mmud or not.  That would be something to test.

So, the dev intended for people to drown outside drownable areas? Drowning outside of drownable areas is a bug. All the other circumstantial crap one can dissect is crap

No. The dev-Lance in this case-didn't intend for you to be able to sys out before walking through the room that removes the spell.

Yet another problem caused by sysop teleports.

No bug here.

the very definition of a bug

#1 you just said that he intended for you to drown out of drownable areas

#2 you just said that he didnt intend for you to sys goto instantly [since you're supposed to walk somewhere first]

#3 you just said "Yet another problem", but there's no bugs apparently

I don't want to call you a moron, but you need to pick some logic and stick with it

You're the expert here, so we should all just defer to you.

I've seen plenty of people drown who opted to walk out rather than port out.

That's just a case of poor luck with round timing.

It's important to note here that gnomish fish-helm negates these drowning spells.

A software bug is an error, flaw, failure, or fault in a computer program or system that produces an incorrect or unexpected result, or causes it to behave in unintended ways. ...

This is not a bug its working as designed.  the logic behind it is you have to walk through a certain room # to  remove the drowning flag and if you miss that  flag  then you drown, may be a flaw in the logic but by definition this is not a bug.  TORK THE DORK  strikes again and fails again.
