abilities: See hidden, +20 perception, Illu +200, Alter HP -50, HPRegen -10, Level 30

See hidden could be full ability or 3 uses/day

Just need a gaunt boss to slay down in a deep dark fungus tunnel.

In gmud, see hidden is extremely powerful.  It pretty much makes you immune to anything stealth related.  There is a reason gauntone's are not too popular though, that health hurts.  If the goal of this item is worn illu, this is something we could probably work with but adding an item that replaces skull masks doesn't seem like something I'd want to do.  If the goal of this is see hidden, then this item has to have draw backs as serious as playing a 70 max health race.

This item does remind me though, the active on the mage cloak is see hidden...the race with see hidden is 'kinda' meant to be a mage.  The solution is unclear..maybe it could jsut cast something different if a gaunt has it on.

Would be nice if see hidden could be reworked to where you can backstab a gaunt or monster with 'see hidden' ability.  And a backstab is a surprise attack which means the monster shouldn't even engage the first round IMO. But say See Hidden is like "Predator' infra-red" maybe his head is turned and he doesn't see you, I should be able to BS that SOB.
Can sneak fail at a higher % entering the room(25% chance to enter a room with see hidden monster), and then another % for a successful BS?(50% chance to land a BS)

As for  the item being worn illu, I was thinking of soloing down in the maus (gnome priest) but without +200 illu you can't even see in your own room. With only 3 skull masks or 1 large silvery cross (x1 lims) it makes it hard to achieve the items necessary to loop a dark area like this.  I just think there needs to be non limited lighting items such as the mining helm that all armor classes can use.

Maybe priests can get a light spell: (equivalent of a light ball)
Good: Halo = +100 room illu
Neutral: Ambiance = +100 room illu
Evil: Devilsglare = +100 room illu

Standard Illu items are open to all classes, and good and neutral priests get a light spell.
