Is greatermud2 only a test server?  what are the differences of greatermud2 and greatermud server?

gm2 was a random side project...its as likely to disappear as it is to have an update.

Yep.  I was experimenting with changing the combat timers so they fired every second only consuming 1/5th of the energy.  The idea was so that instead of having massive 5 or 6 swing rounds every 5 seconds, you'd have more like 1 swing every second or two.  The thinking was you'd no longer have these whoever-gets-first-swing wins PVP sessions.

Instead of:
PersonA hits PersonB for 50 damage!
PersonA hits PersonB for 55 damage!
PersonA hits PersonB for 45 damage!
PersonA critically hits PersonB for 230 damage!
PersonA hits PersonB for 35 damage!
PersonB drops to the ground!
PersonB is dead.

It would look more like:
PersonA hits PersonB for 50 damage!
PersonB hits PersonA for 45 damage!
<one second pause>
PersonA hits PersonB for 55 damage!
PersonA hits PersonB for 50 damage!
PersonB hits PersonA for 45 damage!
<one second pause>

And so on...  No more epic rounding before the other person even gets off a swing.  The other timers would all need to be adjusted though, and all the content updated, so it would be a massive undertaking.  Not to mention Mega probably wouldn't truly understand what was happening.  It did better than I expected.
