What would get people excited?

Obviously, the best thing we can do is finish the first version using the new telnet server and DC's content, and it will happen.  However, I'm wondering if that alone will draw in more people and bring more life to these forums?  Suppose we finished this weekend, would people start coming and posting here?  Is it the game people are waiting for, or am I being too optimistic, and we'll always have just a few loyal (and much appreciated) followers no matter what?

TGS v1.0 (coming soon)

At first it?s just going to be loyal followers and some disgruntled mmuders until we get out into the rest of the mud community. Potentially we could pull in most of mmuds target audience but if we don?t make the push into the overall mud scene it will never get larger then that. Well let me take back never and say highly unlikely... It would probably take something like a TV game show spotlight talking about the resurgence of text muds to really pull in a larger demographic then that.

As for getting more people on the forum its really just about showing that ideas get implimented and that content that is offered up by users is well used. Once that happens then people feel better about spending time posting stuff since they can see that it has some value to the community. We have to remember were the new kid in town and people will be looking to see if we pull it off before getting involved.

sorry, haven't been around alot lately.......=(

how is it going btw?

The forum itself may or may not pick up drastically, but I would guess there will be lots and lots of people on the bbs when it launches. Also it kinda depends on what we do with the product once its done.  If we make it avaible for mmud ops to run their mmud game on our more stable rdy to be updated engine then obviously we will have alot more people poking around in here.

TCA,
It does not have to go that far, what I and most of the rest would like is for you all to atleast do what you have been doing. Anytime I posted what I thought, you all have shown and intrest and responded back. That is what they want.
If my ideas do not get implimented, knowing why..Ie.. Time takes more time to write the code and you all need to finish other projects, or maybe currently it is impossible to code.
It is the intrest that you have shown in my ideas that keeps me coming back to see what other people are posting.
You all have kept me coming because you have shown an interest in my ideas.

Good to know :)

I think I was just looking at it from a different angle. I.e. from the perpective of how to get more people posting and into the game.
